In the extreme southern part of Colorado at the border of New Mexico, the Crazy French Ranch is located deep in the heart of the Wild West, along the Old Santa Fe Trail. Interstate 25 will bring you in 10 miles from the ranch to downtown Trinidad Colorado (pop 10,000) or Raton New Mexico (pop 10,000), where you will find shopping, restaurants, cinemas, golf, museums, and hospitals. In 2hrs and 30 min. you will reach Denver the legendary city of the West or Taos and Santa Fe New Mexico, both rich in Southwestern culture.
This region of high mesas that latitude is the same as Tunis, but the altitude is between 6000 and 9000 feet, benefits from 300 days of sunshine per year, without excessive variations in temperature. In this area where the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains meet, wildlife and natural beauty are in abundance.
Evelyne Jung, of French origin, has but one goal: PRESERVE THIS PARADISE! Her Motto "Priority to Wildlife". In 1995 for the first time the ranch decided to welcome some privileged guests onto the 50,000 acres.
The high number of animals and the high quality of trophies available permitted the ranch to obtain from the Colorado Division of Wildlife, through a special program named: "Ranching for Wildlife", the extension and concentration of hunting seasons.
This is why the CRAZY FRENCH RANCH IS THE ONLY PLACE IN THE U.S. WHERE YOU MAY HUNT 6 SPECIES OF BIG GAME DURING A THREE WEEK HUNT-ON OPEN RANGE.
All trophies will be scored in accordance with the Safari Club Intenational rules and regulations, and will be entered into the SCI record book.
The Crazy French Ranch currently hold the number one Elk and the number twelve Puma in the SCI record book.
